The Lord’s lamp sheds light on a person’s life, searching the innermost parts. Proverbs 20:27, CSB
Father, Before a word is on my tongue You know it. You know my comings and goings, You are acquainted with all my ways. Help me to walk in the light that You provide. Stop me from hiding, or cowering in the dark crevices of my soul. Wash me daily in the water of Your word. Lead and guide me by Your Holy Spirit to what is true. As Psalm 139 reveals, You are the all-knowing and ever present God; Search me and know my heart, test me and know my concerns. See if there is any offensive way in me and lead me in the everlasting way.
Meditate on scriptures that refer to God as ‘Light’ (John 8:12, Matthew 4:16, Luke 2:32, John 1:4,5,7,8,9, John 3:19,20,21). May they encourage your heart and be a catalyst for further prayer.
